Some romance movies are so beloved and iconic that they’re recognized by a single line of dialogue. Here are some of the best love movie lines, catchphrases, and quotes that show these people going through unprecedented turmoil to be together.

My daughter is one of those films that really left its mark on a lot of people. Most remember it as one of the first times they cried watching two young children fall in love. A pretty woman isn’t your typical romance movie, especially when it comes to its main characters. Vivian is a sex worker who ends up falling in love with one of her clients, Edward, a rich and powerful man. The whole movie contains typical fairy tale scenes, especially Cinderella’s makeover, and it’s even mentioned a few times throughout the movie. So when Vivian finally admits she wants the fairy tale, she says she wants what she thought was impossible for a girl like her for various reasons. It’s a sweet line of wishful thinking on arguably Julia Roberts’ best romantic comedy.

You’ve got mail was part of a romantic trope that has become incredibly popular since Shakespeare A lot of noise for nothing: enemies to lovers. James Cameron’s masterpiece, Titanic, features one of the most iconic scenes in modern cinema that can be recognized by anyone just by this quote, the simple promise Rose makes to Jack in the face of the sinking ship disaster; it’s a promise she keeps by never forgetting it.
