Ranking the 5 Best Funko Pops Horror Movies [Fright-A-Thon]

Funko Pop! numbers have already taken the world by storm. They touched on every section of pop culture and made a cute little figurine out of it. However, these early horror figures are the chunky, cookie-cutter versions of Funko Pops that were discontinued for more dynamic figures. So any of these older Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Hellraiser, and other horror franchises have likely been updated with a new pose and sculpt. This addition of a little extra personality makes all the difference when it comes to how fresh these figures are on your shelf.

Which versions of the best horror movie characters make the list? Do any of the old-fashioned chunky figures do it? Let’s dive into the Top 5 Funko Pops of the Best Horror Movies!

5. Carrie – Bloody Carrie

Take one of the most iconic horror movies of all time and turn the most iconic scene from that film into Funko Pop. It really doesn’t get much easier than this. There are two variations of this Pop, a slightly older one where it is not posed and this one, which is readily available at list price. If you make me choose, I take the one who posed 10/10 times. Funko Pops’ blank expression actually helps the whole package here, as it mirrors Carrie’s vengeful and stoic face during her most pivotal scene.

4. Hellraiser III: Hellworld – The Gossip – Walmart Exclusive

Surprisingly, we didn’t have a big hellraiser Pop in addition to this one. The two Pinhead figures we got are both quite old and from the “fat” era. This one, from Hellraiser III: Hellworld, isn’t one of the best movies in the series, but it really shows what Pops can do with the Horror characters. The Chatterer is a fan favorite for a reason, this Pop shows off his crooked mouth and even gives us some of the trademark chains Cenobites are so fond of using. How they didn’t release a multi-pack with all the cenobites from the first movie is beyond me.

3. The Shining – Frozen Jack Torrance – Chase

the brilliant is at the top of many people’s favorite horror movie lists, and this Jack Torrance Pop shows his descent into madness and ultimate death in the movie. He has all the characteristics of a great Pop figure. You get an iconic character and scene from the movie, plus some personality for a normally impersonal figure. There are common Jack figures, but this Chase figure is worth the extra dough just for the details like snow, blue skin, and a bloody axe.

2. Texas Chainsaw Massacre – Leatherface

The biggest issue I have with Funko Pops and Horror icons is that they end up making them too cute. Every time they add a mouth to Michael Myers or Jason Voorhees, they look incredibly weird. For Leatherface though, the mouth makes the figure even scarier. There is a Hot Topic Exclusive variant that has Leatherface with the hammer, but with Chainsaw Massacreyou want the chainsaw.

1. Army of Darkness – Ash – Hot Topic Exclusive

Now for the best Horror Funko Pop out there. This ash of army of darkness is this close to being the best Funko Pop of all time. Even without that, this one has more than the figure you’ll want. The box is even personalized with quotes from Ash inside like “This…is my boomstick!” and “Give me some sugar, baby”. Ash has, however, been spoiled with some great Pops over the years. The new version which celebrates the 40th anniversary of diabolical death is among the best. Even the older pops of Ashes vs. evil Dead are awesome. There’s a much older version of this Pop that has a raised eyebrow, but has a thicker design. But among all, this is the best you can get. He has the Necronomicon, the boomstick, his mechanical hand, and even Ash’s cape.

So what’s your favorite Horror Funko Pop? Did he make the list?
