A new trailer for Jordan Peleit is Nope is promised for release this week, and while we wait, Universal dropped a new featurette today that promotes Peele’s “movie event.”
Peele explains in the video: “This whole movie is ambitious as a cinematic event as I have planned so far in my career. I tried to write a script that I didn’t know how to succeed. And then I assembled a team to help me do it. Check out the new featurette video below.

Universal will release Nope in theaters on July 22, 2022. The film is referred to in official press materials as “a new pop nightmare” and “an expansive horror epic”.
In the film, “Residents of a lonely ravine in interior California who bear witness to a strange and chilling discovery.”
Daniel Kaluuya (get out) will work with Peele again on the mystery film, with the cast also including steven yeun (“The Walking Dead,” Mayhem) and Keke Palmer (“Scream”). Michael Wincott (The crow), Barbie Ferreira and Brandon Perea also star.
Nope is part of a Universal Pictures inked “five-year exclusive production partnership” with Peele and his Monkeypaw Productions, and it has been described as a “horror event”. Mind you, anything that comes from Peele at this point is instantly an event, but we can probably expect Nope to be Peele’s biggest film to date, with an announced IMAX boost. On that note, the film’s cinematographer is Hoyte van Hoytemawhose previous work includes Leave the one on the right in, Spectrumand the films of Christopher Nolan Interstellar, Dunkirkand Principle.
