NECA Promotes ‘American Werewolf’ Characters With Weird Stop-Action Movie Scene

There is definitely a bad moon rising.

NECA released a unique marketing tool this week – a short stop video showing their Kessler Wolf and Nightmare Demon figures straight from the 1981 classic A American werewolf in London. Watch the video, courtesy of screenrant.com, on this page.

David Kessler’s compelling transformation scene in the film is widely regarded as a benchmark for the werewolf man streak, and NECA’s attempt to recreate that spooky moment certainly makes an impression. The two seven-inch figures are currently shipping.

The original horror / comedy – written and directed by John Landis – stars David Naughton, Jenny Agutter, Griffin Dunne and John Woodvine, and follows two American backpackers – David and Jack – who are attacked by a werewolf in England.

The critically and commercially successful film won the Saturn Award for Best Horror Film and an Academy Award for Best Makeup for Rick Baker’s Stunning Transformative Effects. The film also made $ 62 million on a budget of $ 6 million.
