“The Last of Us” – Set Video features an almost accurate gameplay scene”
Ahead of its premiere next year, brand new behind-the-scenes footage from the set of HBO’s upcoming post-apocalyptic horror drama The Last of Us has surfaced online. A new set video for The Last of Us, which you can see below, gives us another look at Pedro Pascal’s Joel and Bella Ramsey’s Ellie as they film near-accurate footage from the game.
The Last of Us: Synopsis
When the two are with Henry and Sam, who were also revealed in a recent batch of set photography, Ellie goes through a small grate and opens a door for Joel in the sewer chapter. It’s not the same scene, although there are some similarities.
The events of the first game will be revisited in The Last of Us series, with the possibility of additional content based on the upcoming video game sequel. Game of Thrones alumni Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey will play Joel and Ellie respectively in the film.
The synopsis states, “The live-action series is set 20 years after the destruction of contemporary civilization.” “On a journey through a post-pandemic America, Joel and Ellie, a duo united by the harshness of the world they live in, are forced to endure cruel circumstances and vicious killers.”
The Last of Us: Cast
Gabriel Luna (Terminator: Dark Fate), Nico Parker (Dumbo), Anna Torv (Mindhunter) and Merle Dandridge (The Flight Attendant) join Pascal and Ramsey as Tommy Miller, Sarah, daughter of Joel, Tess and Marlene, the leader of a resistance group known as the Fireflies, respectively. Perry is played by Jeffrey Pierce (Bosch), Frank is played by Murray Bartlett (The White Lotus), Bill is played by Con O’Neill (Chernobyl) and Riley is played by Storm Reid (Euphoria).
The Last of Us: Other Details
Chernobyl developer Craig Mazin and original game screenwriter Neil Druckmann, who is also one of the filmmakers, are producing and co-writing the live-action series. It is a collaboration between Sony Pictures Television and PlayStation Productions. Carolyn Strauss, Naughty Dog President, Evan Wells, and PlayStation Productions’ Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan serve as executive producers.
