Here is a fun piece for fans of M.Night Shyamalanwhose entire career is stuffed with genre goodies from The sixth sense to the most recent Old.

As Shyamalan returns to the producer’s chair for the third season of Apple TV+ thriller “Servant,” the filmmaker spoke with WSJ on everything under the sun, including his surprising reason to read Stephen King.

“[I read Stephen King because] its ability to put characters in supernatural settings while remaining grounded in reality,” Shyamalan reveals to the magazine, further adding, “I don’t know if I’m reading it because it’s scary.

He also shared that he had posters in his office for The Exorcist and Jaws. However, one of them is his all-time favorite:

The Exorcistto me, is the mother of all horror movies,” exclaims Shyamalan.

Shyamalan’s next one is officially titled knock on the booth, which Universal Pictures will hit theaters on February 3, 2023. In a previous social post last summer, the director announced that the project was “super tight” and “less than 100 pages.” Actor Dave Bautista (army of the dead, Dunes) will play.

He will also produce a thriller titled The Caddo Lake Disappearances.
