If you’re an action movie fan, chances are this upcoming blockbuster High-speed train is already very close to the top of your most anticipated list for 2022.
The latest feature of John Wick, Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2and Hobbs & ShawDavid Leitch, the high-profile concept spectacular, has chained a cavalcade of huge names to tell the story of the madness that unfolds when a host of highly skilled assassins find themselves on the titular mode of transport, to get to realize that their missions are all connected in some way.
The positively stacked ensemble includes Brad Pitt, Andrew Koji, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Zazie Beetz, Michael Shannon, Logan Lerman, Hiroyuki Sanada, Bad Bunny, Sandra Bullock and more, but one of the most Intriguing on the list is Joey King, the young star taking second place behind Pitt in what marks the first actor single of his career.
Talk to Varietythe 22-year-old unsurprisingly admitted she was nervous before High-speed trainbut her A-list co-star and acclaimed director reassured her with some sage advice.
“I’ve been in this industry for 18 years, but this project made me feel like…I grew up in Los Angeles, [but] I felt like I just moved here because I was like, ‘Wow, this is the epitome of Hollywood. I’m working with David Leitch on an action movie, shot at Sony, about assassins, with Brad Pitt, and I see the Hollywood sign on the way to work. They were like, ‘No, you’re totally capable of being here and we want you here and you’re great. And I’m like, ‘Me? Are you sure?’ It was amazing because, on top of feeling overwhelmed and excited and nervous about it, I just had the bigger people say, “No, you belong here.”
High-speed train was recently hit with a three-month delay, but audiences will be able to experience the star-studded extravaganza on July 15, with Sony clearly confident there’s a smash hit in mid-summer.
