They will join Staz Nair, Jena Malone, E. Duffy, Sky Yang and Charlotte Maggi, who have previously confirmed their appearances.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Rebel Moon” is scheduled to begin production from April to November 2022 and will be a two-part film.
Unfortunately, following the casting announcement, Zack Snyder and Netflix did not announce the sci-fi film’s target release date.
Titled by Sofia Boutella, Netflix’s “Rebel Moon” follows the story of a once-quiet colony on the edge of the galaxy that encounters an army of a tyrannical regent led by Belisarius.
To avoid being overrun by Belisarius’ legion, the settlers sent a young woman away to find warriors to help defend their territory.
Bae Doona will show off her fighting skills in the upcoming film as she plays “a swordsman enemy.”
Interestingly, this is not the first time the South Korean actress has appeared in Hollywood movies.
She made her international debut after landing a lead role in the 2012 sci-fi epic “Cloud Atlas,” written and directed by the Wachowski sisters.
Due to her impressive acting skills and diversity as an actress, Bae Doona appeared in the sibling-led movie “Jupiter Ascending,” which was followed by the hit web show “Sense8.”
Apart from her Hollywood movies and series, Bae Doona has a host of notable Kdramas under her belt; this includes the 2017 crime thriller “Stranger” or “Forest of Secrets,” which is in the New York Times top 10 international drama.
And of course, who would forget the hit Netflix series “Kingdom” starring Ju Ji Hoon, where it garnered an overwhelming response worldwide as well as American critics.
