Bill Skarsgard Horror Movie ‘Barbarian’ Moves Release From August To September

20e Century Studios and New Regency have delayed the release of a horror film Barbaric from the heat wave from August to September.

The film was scheduled to open Aug. 31, 2022, but will now open Sept. 9, Walt Disney Studios announced Friday.

No reason was cited for the move, but early September is a prime date for horror releases. In fact, a few actors in the film have succeeded in this space.

Barbaric features Bill Skarsgård, who played Pennywise the Clown in the two-part New Line adaptation Stephen Kingit is This. Barbaric producer Roy Lee was one of the producers of the This movies. This and It Chapter Two were both released during a similar period on the calendar – September 8, 2017 for ThisSeptember 6, 2019 for It Chapter Two – and became one of the biggest horror hits of all time.

Barbaric stars Georgina Campbell as a young woman who, according to IMDB, arrives at her Airbnb late at night to find her rental has been mistakenly double-booked and a strange man (Skarsgård) is already staying there. Against her better judgment, she decides to spend the night anyway, but soon discovers that there is much more to fear in the house than the other house guest.

The film, which also stars Justin Long, was written and directed by Zach Cregger.
